Meditech is a UK-based specialist in Pharmacy Management and Automation solutions, supplying advanced dispensing systems, storage technology, and workflow optimisation equipment to healthcare providers nationwide. Operating at scale across the UK healthcare sector, Meditech required a facility that could support warehousing, technical operations, client demonstrations, and corporate engagement under one roof.

As part of their continued growth, Meditech secured a 9,700 sq ft industrial unit in Minworth, Birmingham. The objective was clear:

  • Create two fully self-contained warehouse units for operational flexibility
  • Develop a high-specification Customer Experience Centre to demonstrate automation systems in a professional, controlled environment
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance across fire, structural, acoustic and thermal standards
  • Deliver a space aligned with their corporate brand and healthcare-sector credibility

The Requirement

Meditech needed more than a basic warehouse subdivision. The project required:

  • Structural engineering integration
  • Fire-rated industrial partitioning
  • Mezzanine floor installation
  • Office, welfare and reception fit-out
  • A branded, two-level showroom environment
  • Full compliance with UK Building Regulations and CDM standards

The facility needed to operate as both a logistics hub and a client-facing demonstration centre — combining industrial durability with corporate presentation.

What We Delivered

1. 9,700 sq ft Warehouse Reconfiguration

We transformed a single distribution warehouse into two independent operational units, each featuring:

  • Dedicated roller shutter doors and loading bays
  • Independent reception entrances
  • Fully fitted offices, kitchens, and washrooms
  • Integrated mechanical and electrical services
  • Fire-rated partition systems built to certified standards

All works were completed in accordance with:

  • Approved Documents A (Structure), B (Fire Safety), E (Acoustics) & L (Thermal)
  • CDM Regulations 2015
  • Health & Safety at Work Act
  • Working at Height Regulations
  • Structural engineer load certifications

2. 350 m² Structural Mezzanine & Two-Level Customer Experience Centre

Within one warehouse, we designed and installed a structural steel mezzanine system to create a 350 m² two-storey showroom and office facility.

This included:

  • Load-bearing steel frame installation
  • Engineered floor loading compliance
  • Safe high-level installation using scissor lifts and access platforms
  • Fire-protected stair cores and balustrade systems

The completed Customer Experience Centre now includes:

  • A bespoke illuminated reception desk with integrated branding
  • Feature media walls combining timber slat panelling, marble-effect finishes, integrated screens and biophilic elements
  • Suspended ceiling grids with recessed commercial lighting
  • Presentation and consultation areas
  • Seamless transition between warehouse, office and showroom zones
